mixeduppup
Chocolate colouring occurs in stumpy tail cattle dogs- maybe this is what they're on about? Coat colours That dog looks like it has kelpie in it.
kelpiecuddles
I was reading a blog article yesterday that stated that ACDs were actually a recent designer crossbreed of the labrador and the blue heeler. It was an American blog as are a lot of the references to chocolate ACDs, etc so I'm wondering whether there is some weird breed confusion going on by some people over there? persephone
The nicest ACD body I saw was some years ago .. I watched as the dog barked & carried on inside a 4WD - thinking that no way would I ever go near the car .! The owner let her out ...and she disappeared!! She had corgi legs supporting this heeler body/boof head Lovely dog :)
Rebanne
at least one of those photo's of a "blue heeler" is actually a stumpy tail and a lot of kelpie in those chocolate ones
BlackJaq
I have noticed in the past that they like to "improve" breeds of various domestic animals in the US by adding colour variations that are not accepted in the country of origin.... Inevitablue
There are a number of miscolours in ACD's, including liver. http://www.adcb.au.com/acdcoat3.htm Oops, already posted :-) Edited December 13, 2013 by Inevitablue
pirate
When we were in the Territory a few years ago. I was knowledgeably informed that my 2 blue Merle cardi corgis were miniature blue heelers. Apparently there was a lady in NSW crossing cardis and blue heelers together.
