Birds & Grooming

we just recently moved into our home in the Barossa Valley and it hasn't taken long for the resident sparrows to figure out that they are on to a good thing with having 3 sheppies in the backyard.........

It's only a few minutes after I have groomed all three, that the little birds fly down to pick up the left over hair!

Even when the dogs are outside relaxing, the little birds are hopping around picking up bits of fur from the bedding.

It's a matter of time till they start plucking the fur right out of the sheppies coats biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

When I lived at the Porpoise Pool, we had willy wagtails (also called Magpie Larks I believe?) collect the emu feathers, they use spider webs as well but emu feathers were much prized materials! (if you haven't seen an emu feather, it's like a big V).

At mum and dad's house now I have no doubt that there is black Labrador hair in their nests, but it's probably not there on purpose. I swear that hair grows legs and gets into everything!
