ChewieTAG
STOP GOOGLING AND SCARING YOURSELF :D if you have ever cut yourself (not scratched) etc ..what happened ? Did it get a bit red? did it seep a bit? did it swell a bit? All these things are usually normal parts of the body's trying to fix up what just happened . Wounds will change every couple of days as the healing progresses - fluid rushes into the cells ... swelling occurs .... the stitches/shaving are sometimes itchy and may go red ....all sorts of interesting things :) keep her occupies with toys/bones/treatballs ... don't let her jump or run really hard for a week .... and don't panic ;) thank you @persephone ! Yes I must stop scaring myself! too much stress already Been occupying her with some new toys so she was having fun this morning. After a good 2 hours, she wants to settle down to sleep but gave whining sound because of her tummy and then fall asleep. But she will jumps up when it tickles her a bit. I nearly fall off my chair every single time... LOL hopefully all good
ChewieTAG
I put this toddler sock on her and tied both her hind leg. However one of it got loosen and she managed to scratch a bit her incision. Seems to be the middle part where it look more swollen is very sensitive and that's why it's bothering her. Because of her scratch it was bleeding a bit. Hope it hasn't done any damaged
_PL_
:) You've been talking to google haven't you. haha I did, and Google always has a lot of answers! Thanks for the info @Powerlegs ! :D You'll be OK, it just looks like a nice fresh wound. Good stitches, a little bruise, antibiotics and painkillers ready. Keep her quiet and stop freaking yourself out. She'll only be wondering why you're stressed. Trying to scratch is normal, and a little blood developing on the suture line will happen as the scab forms which does tickle and itch. She'll be OK and you'll OK. xAnna
minimax
The more you pay attention to her wound, the more she will pay attention to it. So leave it and let it be.
ChewieTAG
I just gave her first pill of rimadyl (pain Killer) & clavulox (antibiotics) and I think she may have reaction to rimadyl as she is panting now.... half tablet of 20mg rimadyl and she is 4kg she had clavulox without problem before and never panting like she has run through the backyard for a good 15 minutes... her panting has slow down a little bit..... Should I inform vet about the reaction and perhaps request for a change of pain killer? Edited November 5, 2013 by chewak

persephone
Sorry- can't help you ....perhaps there is a vet clinic open who you could phone ? Panting can be because of a dog being warm, or excited, or in pain, or feeling anxious .... or other things which only a vet can help you with .... Hope she's ok... Yeah Pers is right, if you are concerned about it all or worried about side effects (Rimadyl can do that also with some dogs) then best phone your vet that did the op for advice. Thats what they are there for. Try not get too anxious as she will be picking that up and it will be unsettling for her. x Edited November 5, 2013 by Jules❤3Cavs

ChewieTAG
Just thought id pop in and find out how is it all going for your puppy? were you able to get in touch with the vets and check with them about your concerns? hope so :) Hi Jules, thanks for asking She is fine now. I've divided the medication in smaller portion and gives her in different timing for both the meds. She seems to be able to handle it better. As for the wound, it doesn't look inflamed anymore. medication helps .. She still wants to scratch her wound constantly so I had her on baby's mitten with a shoe lace tied on. Watching her like a hawk as she is able to pull of the mittens..... a bit tough at night
