AdoubleJ
What about a Boston Terrier? Would be happy with one walk, will bark to let you know people are around - just a thought....

I've never met a Boston with low energy or exercise requirements.
Guest Clover
A small yard and a short walk a day would not generally keep an Irish Terrier happy or most Terriers really. And there is a fair bit of grooming to keep them looking neat. Awesome dogs in the right home though.
kelpiecuddles
I know she's looking for breed feedback but there is a second option, which is to look through rescue for a small breed dog with the type of coat she wants and a known temperament. If she's happy to have a dog that's not a tiny puppy any more then she'd have a lot to choose from, there's a good chance some would suit.
