Cat Having Kittens (smell)

I had one Mum who was odd about using a litter tray, no matter how empty or if you added spares or different litter. So her kittens were also using bedding or whatever worked. It took a while of picking them up and popping them in the tray if it looked like they were going to toilet. Accidents, and several poo-toe mishaps later things got better. It was definitely stinky for a short while but she's the only cat and bubs I ever fostered that was like that.

Mum settled down as her baby responsibilities got less, poor girl was only a little kitten herself when she had them so I think the whole thing was stressful for her. She had them within hours of arriving so hadn't even had time to know who i was. :(

My last girl looked amazingly content in the shelter - she was quite young, an amazing mother and her (7) kittens were about 1 week old when I took them home. I thought she looked a bit 'bulky' in her abdomen when she came home....overnight she literally filled 2 litter trays, urine and faeces - she must have been holding on for quite some time. Cats do funny things when they are stressed and are often good at hiding it.

How's the hubby coming along Loreley? :D

sigh guess what the answer was :( and heaven forbid not in the Gym room (which he never uses) :whip:

He's worried about being 'stuck' with 6 cats in the place, doesn't matter what I tell him, even with rescue backup. :stupid:

Funny thing is he said he would have been fine if I had said I had wanted to take the mum on her own (she's only about 12 months old) but will not 'run the risk' of becoming a cat house with all those babies.

Will continue to work on him, cat season here is still a good month away, maybe I'll just have to take a single youngish cat and ... :whisper:
