zeebie
Urgent update on this w/e's dog sports spectacular at Durack, looks like it will be a very busy w/e so allow extra time, expect crowds !!!! We wish to advise Exhibitors of some changes at Durack for Sunday 6th and Monday 7th October. On Saturday 5th, the Dog of the Year Support Shows are being held in the usual rings, but on Sunday and Monday, all conformation judging will be done on the same side of the grounds. The ring arrangement is as follows: Group 1 – Ring 9 Group 2 – Ring 8 Group 3 – Ring 7 Group 4 – Ring 4 Group 5 – Ring 5 Group 6 – Ring 6 Group 7 – Ring 3 This will mean that all exhibitors in Groups 3, 5 and 6 will need to move their gazebos to the appropriate rings. This change is necessary as Obedience Trials and Rally O Trials will be held in Rings 11 – 16. A ring plan was published in the September Dog World magazine and is also available on the All Dog Sports Spectacular Facebook page. There will also be an Agility and Jumpers Trial in Rings 19 and 20, Flyball races in Rings 21 and 22, Weight-Pulling near the Training Ring, Lure Coursing in the large herding area and a Retrieving Trial in the adjacent paddocks. With conformation entries of 746 on Sunday and 698 on Monday, when parking and setting up your gazebos, we ask you to be considerate of others and only use the space you require. There will be allocated spaces for Breed Stalls and Sponsors’ Stalls along the walkway from in front of the Caretaker’s house all the way to the Function Room as well as from Ring 6 to 9 on the opposite side of the ring area. Unfortunately, this will limit the space available for your gazebos but you will still be able to set up behind them or near the rings, as usual. During the weekend, there will also be demonstrations of other dog sports and interviews with dog-related organisations in Rings 1 and 2. There will also be static displays of other dog sports, along with a panel of Vets/Vet students in the Judges’ Training Room. As this weekend is being used as a fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation, you will be asked to give a gold coin donation either as you enter the gate or during the day, on both days. If you have any concerns during the weekend, members of the Event Managers and Stewards Committee will be extremely visible in their Hi-Viz PINK vests and should be able to help you. We hope it will be a great weekend, so invite your friends and neighbours to come along and find out about all these dog sports.
