Maddy
Just wondering if anyone knew if there was any particular format for donation receipts for the purposes of tax? I've had a look on the ATO's website but can't seem to find what information is required for donors to be able to include the donation for their tax return. What I'm currently using includes: Donor's name and address, the date of the donation, the amount donated, GHT's ABN, association number and my signature. Is there anything I'm missing from that? minimax
I doubt it, since when I add all my donations in my tax I just use my bank statement, I don't usually give all my receipts as I lose them

honeybun
One thing that should be on a receipt for a tax deductible donation is the statement that Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Not all donations to charities are. The charity involved has to have DGR - Deductible Gift Recipient - status from the Australian Taxation Office. No DGR status, it isn't a deductible donation. If you total deductions are over $300, then you must ba able to substantiate them.. So you need to confirm that your donations to rescue are actually made to a rescue with a DGR status..
