LisaCC
I have my first show coming up on the long weekend, and just wondering what would be the best colours to wear with a blue merle (with white and tan) Aussie? Any suggestions would be great :)
Karelea Aussies
I always try to stick to something plain coloured in fairly quiet tones, but that's just me :) . In my un-expert opinion, Blues of all shades look good as does Purple. Reds look nice and I have seen someone show in a pale Yellow which is lovely against the Merle. Black bottoms are ok on a Merle if you have a favourite skirt or pants to wear. Whatever you feel comfortable in colour wise should work. Some lighter patterns will work but realistically we would hope the judge is looking at the dog and fogiving us our fashion sense  Good luck! Jsk
Stay away from greys and pale blue/ grey colours. A solid dark colour such as black looks good behind a blue merle as it helps out line the dog. I used to show a blue merle sheltie and always wore black bottoms with different jackets. I am now about to start showing a black Schipp and have NOTHING to wear at all
ellz
Green, turquoise and red work well behind blue/grey dogs.
TashaBailey
Stay away from anything with lots of patterns/ multiple colours etc. saw someone a few weeks ago with a blue Merle pup with a very bright suit splashed with lots of different colours and it ended up being very distracting .
