xena98
Hi Guys I know this has been said quite a few times and I did have a search but I couldnt find anything but was wondering what people gave there dogs for this problem. I know stillbistrol was used but have heard its not good dont know if its true or not but there was something that you could get from the chemist and only need to give a half tablet that helped and I cant remember what it was called not sure if it had something to do with cold and flu tablets or what thanks guys
_PL_
Have you confirmed it's incontinence and not a UTI or bladder problem? You might be thinking cranberry type stuff which people try for UTI problems (it's no substitute for antibiotics) because I don't think there's any type of hormone you can buy over the counter. Stilbestrol is very effective for incontinence, usually wetting the bed while asleep is the first indicator that there is a problem.
OSoSwift
You can used sudafed but all our pharmacies no longer carry sudoephadrine products. There are other medications available from vets, incur in and propalin, both very safe drugs from what I know about them
xena98
lol that was the one sudafed couldnt think of it. She is dry at the moment so I'm not sure if she was having a lovely chew and left the mark cause she was dry in the back end. Did see her having a good chew but didnt think anything of it thoughtl Just a lovely wet patch on a light grey mat in her bed. Have checked again tonight and she is still dry. Not very impressed that I keep checking out the back end so there may be a visit to the vet so shall see what happens tomorrow. thanks guys shall let you know what is happening but it was sudafed that I was thinking of though
persephone
So, you are concerned about incontinence after one damp patch? please do NOT use any human drugs (any drugs) until, as you say , a vet confirms a problem. My male dog had a couple of occasions when he wet the bed during very heavy sleep .... it only ever happened twice , so he didn't have any treatment ... You may well be correct in thinking it was saliva after a chew session - hope so :)
xena98
I did write something on here a couple of days ago and dont know what happened but I am glad to say that we still have a dry bum and dry bed so I am hoping that was what it was. Might add poor Inka is not impressed with the bum inspection though just gives me this funny look lol so hopefully that was what it was thanks guys hopefully this one will work
