Stairs For Pugs - Where To Buy

I'm thinking of buying a set of stairs for my Pug, so he can get down safely from the couch or bed when he is an old Puggie. I'm thinking of buying them now and training him to start using them.

I have only been able to find stairs on American websites - and they would be too expensive to send here.

Does anybody use stairs for their Pugs/dogs? And do you mind telling me where you bought them?

I have heard of elderly Pugs jumping off furniture and breaking their legs.

Yes thanks - exactly like that but I would prefer not to buy on eBay. I don't like using eBay, so much stuffing around when you just want to buy something.

I guess they're called steps, and not stairs, because they are very small :laugh: That's probably why I couldn't find any "Pug stairs".

I didn't realise that they have the Buy It Now option - and the shipping is free. Not bad for $35.

They have them advertised on Deals Direct for $25 but they're out of stock.

I've got them for Bon to get up my bed. They are very lightweight so make sure they're leaning up against something, any bit of weight and they slip away.

Maybe I could glue some rubber to the base for traction? If they don't work out, I might ask a local handyman to build me some out of wood.

That's a good idea actually. I have mine leaning up against the bed and up against the chest of drawers for support but rubber would work. You'll see what I mean when they turn up.

Thanks for the pic. Is the acrylic fleece covering a problem at all? Does it move around much?

I've never had a problem with the covering, it's removable so washable too. Your main problem will be if you have tiles or wooden floors as it weighs nothing and isn't 'sturdy' but the rubber is a good idea and I lean mine agaist something for safety. I'd hate for Bon to be using it and it slides or slips :)

I have carpet that is very thick with a weave pattern, so hopefully it will stay in place (with a rubber base as well).
