The boy is now home, got a pic as he walked around but he's now settled on his bed fast asleep :D The vets and nurses were so impressed with him - they said he was the quietest Boxer they've ever seen. Vet also said he was a very lucky dog in that he just missed major arteries as wouldn't be here otherwise as he probably would've bled to death on the way to the vet :( Scary thought. Just glad he's home and well and safe.

Awww look at him! He is very lucky indeed.

Maybe until you get a chance to replace the glass on all the door panels, you could put some sticky tape crosses on them, or maybe just some clear school book contact? Won't stop him breaking them, but will hopefully prevent injury if he does!

glad he's ok,I recently had a similar one but it was my boxer pushing our staffie thru the lower glass panel, she then jumped back out cutting her ankle including artery,(we pressure bandaged this before going to the vet) and the base of her tail, the biggest problem was keeping her quiet and the bandages intact, both cuts were in high movement areas and required repeated bandaging, the tail actually took longer to heal.I had safety glass installed and will be putting removable security panels aroud the back yard area,Ive had 3 broken windows in 26 yrs, 2 from the dogs and 1 from the cat, which is another story

Know they sell stick on privacy film at hardware stores, will be putting it on the 2 bottom rows of glass so he can't see out, until such time as the glass can be replaced with laminated glass. I'm assuming if he can't see out the incentive to doosh the glass will stop [he has done it on numerous occasions with no drama...this morning was just bad luck with his mighty kung fu doosh].

And he has pretty blue boy bandages so clearly he will have a story to tell all the other fur kids down the dog park!

A bit OT but we had a dog fight here a while back. I rushed the first dog I got hold of straight to the vet and locked the other in my room. Dropped dog one off and raced the 5 mins back home to get the other one. I didn't realise it at the time but she was far more injured and did have a vein or artery punctured in one leg. It took me hours of scrubbing to clean my entire bedroom from all the bloody sprays and blood pools. It was incredibly traumatic and I sobbed and scrubbed all day waiting for news from the vets. Both dogs had emergency surgery and recovered quickly and we have had no fights since. But I still feel so incredibly lucky that I didn't lose either of my girls because I didn't realise who had the worst injuries due to working on auto pilot.
