Zombie Bait
A male mantle Great Dane with the temperament of a rescue Dane that I fostered a couple of years ago Dozer. Such a gentle boof head. I still miss that doofus. I love my Brembo, but I would gladly trade his issues.
Little Gifts
I've always wanted to experience owning a frenchie, a dane and a greyhound (but not in the same dog). But sadly I was enabled by Ams to adore shar pei. I love a dog that is a bit naughty, funny, smoochy and part sloth and you get that and more with a pei! BC Crazy
I'm really enjoying this thread. Interesting to read about what other folks desire & would like in their 'perfect' dog. I adore both my dogs that I have at the moment. Sonny has a beautiful temp, bomb proof almost. Loves everybody & everything. He is very handsome. Also very easy to live with. His only fault would be that he can be a little aloof/ stubborn to train at times. Stella is a beautiful, sweet girl & a delight to train. However she is very reactive/nervous about pretty much everything which makes her life & mine very challanging. So I would have to say if I could mix the 2 of mine together. Sonny's temp & Stella willingness to learn. Either ones looks as they are both beautiful :p I would have my perfect dog. The best of both worlds & the breed I adore :) Edited August 8, 2013 by BC Crazy
Agility Dogs
I was lucky enough to get my perfect dog first cab off the rank. Xena is drivey, cheeky, gorgeous, sweet, biddable and can relax (OK, maybe that last one is more nurture than nature). I've spent the last 4 years looking for another Xena. I don't think I'll ever find another girl like her, but the cool thing is that my other dogs are just another kind of perfect. Xena just happened to be the first. corvus
I love my reactive dog. I don't find his reactivity to be a huge issue. He's not an easy dog, but he is astonishingly responsive and it's rare that I can't get through to him when I need to. If he was a little bit more emotionally stable (less prone to anxiety, better able to manage his arousal, maybe a wee bit less outrageously anticipatory) he'd be the perfect dog. He's crazy smart, and he's very affectionate and cuddly, and he's a bold little bastard. Better make sure you have properly judged what he can physically do, because he thinks he can do anything and he doesn't usually bother assessing risks. He just does it. It's very cool. :) And I've never met a more engaging animal. He looks at you and it's like he's trying to look directly into your head and read your thoughts. On the physical side, the short legs have a lot going for them, but I do wish he could keep up with me on a run. Having said all that, Kivi is something pretty special. Everybody likes Kivi. Almost nothing rattles him. He is so even-tempered I've never actually seen him growl or lift his lip in the 5 1/2 years we've had him. My ideal dog could only be better with a darling like Kivi to balance it. <
Maddy
An outoging and sociable dog who is good on lead. I used to use Kiff for any greyhound events we did and he was amazing but he doesn't have the energy to do them anymore. He's also a dream to have on a lead, he used to pull like a train but hundreds of hours later and sometimes, I feel the need to look down to make sure I still have a dog on the other end of the leash :D I was hoping our youngest dog would be able to take over his role but as it turns out, despite heaps of socialisation, Bosley is below average around strangers, and because of his blind eye, horrible to walk on a lead (he does constant donuts, doesn't like walking on any hard surface, etc). Leah82
I'm loving our little family as it is but there are still a few things I'd put on the wish list :p I wish Sarah knew how to play - every time I try and play with her she looks at me like I'm crazy I wish she wasn't so nervous around other dogs - the dog play park is pretty pointless when your dog just follows you around the whole time I wish she wasn't so precious about wet grass and mud - this will hopefully change after a few camping trips All of these I'm working on so hopefully we'll get there For our boof head cocker spaniel I wish Collie wasn't so noisy... the barking when people knock on the door, the yelping and running around the house when I get home from work and even the whining when he's scratching himself - 'we don't need to know you're scratching yourself Collie!' and I wish he didn't have PRA (although then we probably wouldn't have gotten Sarah) And on the whole - fewer dust bunnies would be nice and I wish they could stay young and healthy for a very long time. My OH was mentioning just the other night that he doesn't want Collie to get old, he wants his puppy to be with him forever.
cali
-big -healthy-not prone to allergies, and join issues -extremely active -good with small animals -good with all dogs -reserved, 1 person dog, no lab type temperments -able to relax when not enganged, I can't stand boxer/vizla/weim types, full body contact sort of energy -tight lips, I despise drooly -coat short and thick, or if longer, shaveable without wrecking the coat really.. a giant border collie would be my dream dog lol
huga
Only Frenchies from here on in. I think Sid is a bit of a stand out though - his energy levels are perfect and I love how much he loves me I could do without the little white hairs sticking out of everything, but compared to Lola, it's nothing! cassie
I think Sumo my Saint baby is turning out to be my perfect dog. He is not even 5 months old yet but so far, he has me hooked. Traits I love, that he has: - huge size - soft - loves cuddles - dog friendly, but also isn't overly fussed about other dogs and doesn't have to say hi to everyone, I thank dog shows for this - human friendly, he loves everyone - so eager to learn and please - ridiculously handsome :D I know he's young but I can't see him straying far from the above as he matures. He's awesome.
blakkjackal
I absolutely adore my current dog. He is perfect for what & who he is. But still.. My dream dog would have more drive, more persistence, more "fire". In a way I'm super lucky to have this one as he has made me realise what exactly it is that I want from my next dog. mita
I don't need to describe my dream dog because I already have her Me, too. That's a lovely pic of you & your dog....doesn't need words! :) My Tibbie girls, retired showgirls from breeders who raised them as part of the family, have the loveliest, warm-hearted, sensible buddhist natures. Can't thing of anything extra they'd need to have. My only problem is stopping myself from having a tribe of them.

Rascalmyshadow
Poodles are my perfect dog. If I was to pick one that was perfect it would be Bosun the standard we had. He was goofy, not highly prey driven, super willing to please, by your side but not clingy, no shedding hair, loved the family but was mostly my boy, protective when necessary and loved to be a big lap dog. I only wished he had had a bit more confidence in public. His biggest downfall was being too much for the children, he wasn't aggressive but his roughhousing was an!accident waiting to happen so we made the decision to rehome him to a wonderful couple with no children that lived on acreage. RiverStar-Aura
Aussie Terriers are my heart breed so my dream dogs would be a pile of them!! Also Norwich Terriers, but they need stilt legs -- bending over for training gets old!! Oh and Salukis -- gorgeous dogs!!
juice
A bully without the health issue's that live longer ( one a little more active than the one I have too  , although she is rock solid temp wise, as they should be.) A dally that doesn't shed? He would have to be the easiest dog I have owned, can't fault his temp. Edited August 8, 2013 by juice
Remarkabull
Simi is my dream dog. She has a great temperament, gets along with other dogs and animals and doesn't require huge amounts of exercise. She doesn't shed a lot and is the prettiest girl in the world. We are completely in love with her and the breed and for the foreseeable future they will be the only breed we will have. This is Simi and Arnold, who is turning out to be as wonderful as she is :)
