Starkehre
As for slippery floor surfaces, we have a tiled area in our house where the dogs spend most of their inside time. We have all but covered the entire area with rubber backed mats from Bunnings, especially near the doorways to outside. And in the main centre space we have a huge rug. do whatever it takes to avoid slipping... and games on the mats only :)
Guest hankodie
Thanks Dyzney your rotties are gorgeous! The stairs are filled in - though they are timber, my husband is looking at getting them covered in carpet so Hank has more traction going up and down the stairs. :) Another question in regards to Hank's growing joints (I'll post it here to save me starting a new thread) - he and our frenchie are getting along like a house on fire but our frenchie (being a frenchie) loves to rough play. I intervene whenever it escalates from being "calm play" and I ensure it takes place outside but I'm just worried about the impact it might have on his joints. They are both roughly the same size and he'll soon grow bigger than her which is another reason why I don't want to encourage any rough play. Any ideas to get them to settle down? Usually I will whip out a tug toy and the frenchie will initiate a gentle game but Hank is soon all over her, wanting to play rough (to which of course she happily obliges. I only let them play on the grass in the backyard but I'm still worried about the effects on his joints should I be limiting interactions? They play a handful of times a day and always supervised. The rest of the time they are separated
