tdierikx
The lovely lillypilly would like the wonderful people who organised to get this beautiful girl to us to know how she's doing... Candy has had her surgery to fix her bad back leg, and is now lapping up lots of attention from her wonderful foster carer "Aunty Margaret". Aunty Margaret reports that Candy is a dream foster - and is coping very well with her surgery and having to be on a no-exercise routine for the next few weeks. She is loving her regular short walks to the yard for a tinkle and a lie in the sun under Aunty Margaret's loving eye - tummy rubs are the best apparently! Candy would like to thank Frenzied1, Camelia, and the lovely Therese who transported her to us... and anyone else that she can't remember that may have had a hand in this stage of her journey to her new and fantastic life as a pampered pet. Here are some pics of Candy post surgery... I don't think she's suffering any, do you? Hugs to everyone for all the great stuff you do behind the scenes - without you, dogs like Candy might not always get that special second chance they so deserve. T. Thanks so much Tdierlikx for the wonderful update on Candy. That has made my day :). You and Lillypilly and Aunty Margaret do such a wonderful job and the world wouldn't be the same without you all. What you've done foe Candy is just amazing. She's a beautiful girl and am so glad to hear she's doing so well and is so happy. Great story. Thank you! tdierikx
Thank YOU Camellia12... your wonderful donation to Candy's surgery was most appreciated... she actually has some prosthetic bits in the leg now, which should see her all better once it has healed up and rested for a while. Apparently her surgery was much more involved than just cruciate repair, but she should make a complete recovery. The vets are very happy with how she's coming along, and Aunty Margaret says she's a delightful foster who fits in just perfectly... T.
Little Gifts
Even all plastered and in the recovery stage you can imagine how much better she must be feeling. It must be horrid for an injured animal to not sense that anybody cares to help them when they are suffering. Great work!
mita
I loved that third photo. I'm guessing it's at Aunty Margaret's, the foster-carer. Not only is Candy snug & recovering in her crate, but she's surrounded by a bunch of peaceful 4 -legged friends in the living room with their humans. It should be a poster-pic for foster-caring.... & for why pet owners can get such well-socialised dogs thro' rescues.
tdierikx
Aunty Margaret has sent a couple more pics of Candy for us to share... Candy is loving having her 3 calm foster sibs to keep her company... Abbie the GSD, Lizzie the Manchester Terrier, and Ozzie the mobile fuzzy duster... *grin* Aunty Margaret is somewhat smitten by how well behaved Candy is, and a real bonus is that she is apparently toilet trained... it won't be too long before Candy can join in the proper training sessions the other 3 do - she's coming along exceptionally well according to Dr Robert her treating vet. Camellia12
Awwww, look at Candy's gorgeous little face :). Thank you for the latest pics Tdierikx and also for the more detailed update on Candy's bionic leg!!!! So glad she is doing so well. I love your hilarious desciption of Ozzie the fuzzy mobile dust buster!!! Thank you so much you awesome threesome (Lillypilly, Tdierlikx and Aunty Margaret). Candy looks so at home at Aunty Margaret's. You can see how happy she is. She certainly didn't have a look like that when she was stuck in the pound. A complet transformation. So happy to see her like this! Thank you.

What a perfectly well socialised and happy girl she is now... lucky Candy is now ready for adoption. I know my cousin is coming out to NSWAR to find a perfect pet for her family... Candy might be a match there... *grin* T.
