Some wonderful shots in this thread.

Not being something I've tried to really shoot much (birds) the opportunity came up at the local wetlands yesterday when out walking/exploring with the hound. Pelicans are perhaps a bit boring/common, got to test the camera on something other than dogs at least haha, seems birds are easier work for it than dogs!

A few more birds. Love photographing birds but have realised I now need a bigger lens, the 300mm is just not enough

Even 600mm isn't enough sometimes  Super shots, love the colours in the 3rd one :)

Spoony - nice in flight shots, I don't know how those birds ever take off they are like jumbo jets!

I kinda cheated with my photos - the birds are in cages, and I was using a 100-400mm lens to get the head shots...

I have some shots of Dixie the Whistling Kite in full flight at the Taronga Bird Show though... she can reach speeds of around 60kmh, and they were taken hand held...

Dixie the Whistling Kite... hand held - straight out of camera, no cropping...

Good shots of Dixie T, I like the one of her upside down catching her bait :)

This was a Whistling Kite I got a few months back when out looking for Ospreys.

Love the photos Spoony, T and CC

So far I have only seen the common birds around, would love to find some "Birds of Prey" to shoot :)

CC the Tamron 600 is next on my wish list of lens, but want to get a better body first so will be a while yet :(

A few more of the local birds, I went to this place to mainly shoot the sunset but got there early enough to get a few photos of the wildlife first :)
