idigadog
Come along to the 17th running of the Canberra Sled Dog Classic. This year we are holding the ASSA National Championships and it's going to be a huge event!!! Check out Canberra Sled Dog Club for details. Spectators most welcome but best to leave your doggies at home unless they are competing. Edited July 31, 2013 by idigadog
kelpiecuddles
Sounds great, I work Saturdays but it's only a couple of hours drive for us so we might try and make it on Sunday, is it usually still a big day on Sunday or much smaller than Saturday? Esky the husky
Sunday is heat two to the race. So it should be the same size XD Plus you'll get to see who wins if you come that day :) Esky and I should be in Bikejoring :D I am literally soooo excited for it, making my road trip playlists

kelpiecuddles
I don't mind the cold, just hoping it's not torrential rain! Apart from the race I don't like driving the road to get over there in the wet as it's not fully sealed.

All the same classes on Sunday as Saturday. But, and it's a big but, if you want to see the big teams go out then you would need to be at Kowen by 6.45am at the latest. Racing starts at 7am for 8 dog class. We estimate that all classes will be over and done with by 11.30am/ish. We hope :)
kelpiecuddles
OK, I'll have a think. Doesn't bother me getting up that early, just not sure if I'm keen to tangle with kamakaze kangaroos at that time of day along the back roads.
