I've just had a big compliment about one of my photos. I'm on a facebook page called Australian Dog Photography. I dont post alot but I put those ones of the puppies on the table together up there and they've made one their title page photo. I'm quite chuffed. :D

Congratulations. :champagne: :champagne:

Not that I am surprised - your photographs are brilliant.

I used to have an old cardboard wine box that I'd cut a hole in and used it to raise dear old Pennys dinner bowl a bit higher off the ground for her. Since Penny passed away Feather's been using it for almost 2 years, I certainly got good use from it, and still would have been except for one tiny pesky puppy who'd taken to tearing it apart. I know it's silly but I actually felt a bit sad the other day when I accepted that it had run its race and needed to go. No matter, I had another even sturdier one that I could use for Feather! Well, I did have, until a certain rodent sized canine took to it with her canines. Here she is showing off her kill and her handiwork.

I am loathe to buy one of those metal bowl raisers but maybe it's the only option, other than taking to naughty puppy with some teeth pullers, which might be a tempting option. Her ears dont always fly like that, she was being expressive and bouncing up and down, perhaps saying "TAKE MY PHOTO! TAKE MY PHOTO! Little brat!

"I did this" she proudly states.

She has her Mum's eyes, doesn't she?

... and her naughty puppy antics remind me of some of the things her Mum got up to not that long ago too... lol!

T.

similar to her Mum, but still an individual. Her eyes are darker than Nekos but I was just talking to Marcus about how crazy she is and then remembering that Neko was also pretty crazy at this age. Actually I think Secret is more careful, I can see she thinks before she leaps off things where as Neko used to just launch off things and I'd be terrified she would hurt herself.

That expression on her little face... Butter wouldn't melt!!

You want to make a bet. Just this morning she discovered a tiny piece of veneer is lifting off the end of a kitchen bench. Well since she's discovered it she's been trashing it. I tried to put something against it to stop her, that didn't work so in desperation I have squirted white vinegar over it. That seems to have put her off for the moment but she's already busted a chunk off.

and can you see she skun her little wrist yesterday. A gentle whippet accidentally bowled her over on the gravel path, she wasn't even going fast but still took some bark off. She was very brave though and didn't do the iggy death scream.

Secret's started doing this cute thing. Last week I shoved her up my jumper for the first time and she loved it. Since then she's been up a couple of other ladies jumpers, she's really getting to first base with girls she doesn't even know but they dont mind, in fact they love it. Anyway, now she's started to wiggle under the whippets coats while they're laying in bed. I see this funny lump and just her bottom sticking out from under their coat.

Gosh she is cute! As for the box - we bought these little plastic foot stools for our old dog and it withstood Stussy trying to eat it numerous times. It folds up and I think it was one of those garden seats for people as they weed but it looks a little too flimsy for most human bottoms but perfect for food dishes!

It might even be too high. Doesn't need much. She's managing to eat off the floor at the moment anyway. Secret's been keeping herself occupied by tearing bits off the veneer on the kitchen bench. :(

  • 2 weeks later...

My little girl Secret might have had her first and last show today. She came third, in a class of 3 so I suppose that means she came last. That's not the reason why she might not be shown again, we're not bad losers. Unfortunately she broke her tail last week TWICE!! :( The very last joint was bent, so I reluctantly agreed to splinting hoping it would allow it to heal straight, but fearing that she might break it again where the splint ends and that's exactly what she did. I could try splinting it again, but I fear she might do the same thing again and end up with a very corrugated tail, so I made the decision to let it heal as it is. It will most likely mean the end to her show career, before it's even started. So here's her one and only ribbon from todays 1st Italian Greyhound champ show. Well done to the organisers.

I got to see some of Seekies rellies too. Bipsy has certainly left his stamp on the blacks and sables, the others, I'm not so sure of but he's got some lovely puppies on the ground.
