You can find kelpies in the US, and there are people breeding them as working or agility dogs. See, eg:

The ACD is another matter. Here in Florida ACD's, and ACD X's are readily available in most rescues, or cheap in local newspapers.

I know that in northern north america and canada they are growing in popularity but are still quite far from common.

and Cattle dogs are very popular now in the US.

Very popular! I met quite a few whilst there and my friend has 3 of her own in Wyoming.

so popular that they're beginning to push the pit bull for elbow room in rescues.

pit bulls can't even hold a candle to the number of cattle dogs and cattle dog mixes in rescue around here, like 1 pit for every 20 cattle dogs.

Its certainly interesting to hear about the numbers overseas of a breed of dog that's both common and quintessential to Australia.

Yeah I had noticed that there were lots of ACDs in the US when I was looking through some blogs.

And yet the Perth Mint used a German Shepherd and Beagle on the Aussie 'year of the dog' coins.
