Shakti
Hi - does anyone know where I can get large, good quality bibs or bandannas for my Newf please? I would prefer a towelling kind of material if possible.
Dogsfevr
Many of the Newf people i now will use hand towels & sew/attach a neck cord
Life Of Riley
The Newfoundland Club of Victoria has them for sale, check out their facebook page.
mish13
I have brought a lot overseas but have found these ones to be equally as good http://www.newfclubsa.com/newf-wear/ or these http://www.newfoundland-dogs.net/2012%20Merchandise.pdf Sorry don't have a link to the Victoria ones
Shakti
Thank you for your help - the links worked so I will order through there. They look great and I love the logos! I couldn't find a working link to the Newf Club in Victoria though
cassie
I've just ordered two from a Facebook site: Droolicious 4 Paws Bibs and Biscuits. They're in the UK I think. Not cheap ($60 for both including p&h) but they are beautiful, check out the designs. And they can embroider anything you like on there. All the reviews I've read say the bibs are top quality too. Can't wait to receive mine :)
mish13
Cassie you are an enabler ha!ha! I have an order already on its way from overseas. Now I have seen these I want some, how many bibs does a Newfoundland need. !!!!!!!!
kelpiecuddles
I never even thought of these being used for dogs. Can I ask here whether it is worth making these for dogs? I make water proof bandana bibs to order for special needs children, they are backed with either polarfleec or PUL(the same thing used to waterproof high end cloth nappies) and front of either flanelette or towelling. If they are something people would potentially be interested in I will add a couple more patterns to my range!
cassie
Haha Mish! I'm not telling my OH what these bibs are costing I've actually ordered one for Sumo my Saint, and one for his sister as a surprise :) They'll be benched next to each other at the Royal and I think these will look great. Plus hopefully it'll stop a few thousand of the "What's his name?" questions!
cassie
Yes kelpiecuddles! Check out the Facebook site I mentioned. I'm not suggesting you copy theirs, but just for some inspiration. I'd happily buy them from Aus if I could!
Shakti
I second that Kelpiecuddles - I would be very keen - especially with the waterproof backing!
mish13
Can I just say the waterproof backiing might be a bit hot for these big guys in our climate
kelpiecuddles
PUL is a breathable waterproof fabric that is used on cloth nappies, it doesn't get hot or sweat like plastic, I can attest to that through 8 years of nappying my children in it :) If someone can give me an idea of the neck size range I'll work on something :)
cassie
I don't have mine yet, but I just saw another site that had two different sizes: 24-29 inches or 27-33 inches. They all have a stretchy elastic neck opening, hence the variation. Hope that helps :)
