mixeduppup
Saw an ad on fb and offered my assistance and she jumped on the chance to send him to rescue and not the pound which will be his next stop. Can anyone help? "The fences are very short where I've currently moved to so he's learnt to jump im too stressed that somebody will take him/ get hurt etc.. beautiful boy but I cant keep him in the yard. Literally. Purebred liver coloured gsp. 18 months old. Male not desexed. Microchipped and vaccinated. Excellent with any dog He's very well socialised Wagga." Tibbie_tabbie
He is stunning! Has she contacted the breeder? Is there a GSP breed group?
trifecta
Have a look at this thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/250069-gsp-in-renbury/ there are some GSP contacts in here. Also, it would be a good idea to remove the phone number from your opening post. It is an open invitation to anyone looking to acquire an entire dog...... & technically, advertising an undesexed dog does not comply with forum rules. :)
mixeduppup
She has contacted the breeder and other breeders as well. I think there is a gsp rescue group but I'm having trouble finding the info

kelpiecuddles
While it would be better for him to get private rescue at least at the pound he would be desexed and a nice looking, friendly dog like him stands a good chance of being adopted. Better that then being picked up by sone yobbo looking for an entire dog to breed who's only out for the money from puppies.

Yep, i did tell her that the pound may not be as bad as it seems for a boy like him. The reason i put him here was that she was searching for a breeder that may have wanted him for their program. So thought I may improve his chances of going to a more suitable home
mita
Sometimes the breed rescues in other states can know of someone waiting to adopt a rescue. So wouldn't hurt just to let Victoria GSP Rescue know, too. In theory, there is only an exemption if the dog is too elderly or too young to be desexed. I am not a stickler for following the rules to the letter, but in my opinion it is much safer if interested parties can message you privately for contact details. Her Majesty Dogmad
Sorry - I couldn't post but there is a very active Facebook page (I'm a member) for GSPs in trouble: Go onto Facebook and search for: GSP Rescue Victoria Australia members are everywhere and they do their best to help dogs in other states. tonka1
That Facebook page is "secret" so can't be found unless you are a member. Best to email Caroline at GSP Rescue Victoria ([email protected])
mixeduppup
I gave her the information for the GSP rescues. I haven't heard anything more from her but she strongly indicated that she would be taking him to Glenfield RD shelter yesterday afternoon if no one took him. I don't know if she did or not though. BluePlusAnimalRescue
I offered to talk about us rescuing him but the owner has said she is going to stick it out and try to keep him. I told her to contact a GSP breeder for some hints and tips.
mixeduppup
Good to hear. Hopefully all goes well and she gets the fences fixed to keep him in. He sounds like a lovely boy.
kelpiecuddles
Those fences in Wagga are so low, I'm not surprised people have so much trouble with dogs escaping.
