We recently got a male 2 year old Japanese spitz and we are looking at breeding him with a female Japanese spitz. Do you know of any owners that have a female Japanese spitz?

From the way this is worded it sounds like you do not want to breed a litter but just want someone else to use your dog. This is not the way the dog world works and bitch owners seek out a dog, not the other way round. Bitch owners carefully check pedigrees and look for the very best dog that is compatible with their bitch to get the best puppies. Breeding is not a matter of just getting a male and female and putting them together. It is a lot more complicated than that. Most males are never used at stud unless they are successful show dogs or have specific lines that someone wants. The breeder of your dog should be able to advise firstly, if your dog is good enough to breed from (and is main registered) and then they will advise other breeders that this dog exists and is available, if he isn't shown. One day someone may want to use him but unless he is being shown it is unlikely. Provided he is on main register and has had his patellas checked as sound, you can also list him here on DOL in the breed profiles so people know he exists.

Thank you for the advice. We were hoping to get one pup out of the litter. Our dog did not come with papers and the person we got him from won"t breeders.

If he is not registered then no one on here would ever be interested in using him as it is against our Code of Ethics. Desex your lovely new pet and and if you want to get another seek out a good registered breeder on here.

In all honesty, I'd be looking to buy a pup from a reputable registered breeder rather than trying to find someone who wants to breed their girl with your boy. It can be pot luck with pups bred from dogs of unknown backgrounds, and the pups might not be all that you hoped for if the proper consideration hasn't gone into their "creation"...

In addition to all the above, if you do find someone who wants to use an unregistered, unknown male over their bitch you have no way of knowing if the bitch is your dog's sister or some other very close relation.

Neuter your dog and buy a second puppy - it will work out cheaper! :D

no real way of knowing if either is a purebred, imagine a couple of spotty pups turning up
