Daisy.Tea
Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone knew of any behaviourist in the canberra region. I'm looking in particular for help with my 18month old Aussie shepherd who is starting to react towards other dogs, at first it was only in an excitable fashion but when mum was walking her the other night she growled towards the other dogs they came across. I also wanted to know if anyone knows of any show training? (This is for a different dog) As well as the best place for agility in the canberra region? So many questions! Thanks for any help. Burkes
Hi Daisy.Tea, Our rescue group has used Heike Hahner near Braidwood and had good results. http://braidwoodnsw.com/heike/ (Sorry, link button won't work when I'm at work) We have also used Raelene Koerber though she has been hard to get hold of lately so not sure if she is still doing work in Canberra. http://www.raelenekoerber.com/raelenekoerber/ I've heard good things about Geraldine from Geraldines Training as well but haven't used her myself. Daisy.Tea
Thanks for that. I'm looking into them, from looking at Geraldine's site she is now offering reactive dog classes. Which might be interesting to have a look at as well as some one on one time.
Cleo's Corgwyn
Yep, Geraldine was at the APDTA conference with us last year, and I know she's been working with some BAT techniques. I've heard great things about Heike, and we also sometimes refer people to the Canine Coach (Paul?). Raelene has been busy personally, which would explain why she's busy. I'm an Obedience (and trialling and DWD!) instructor at Belconnen, but all clubs in Canberra offer agility, so its probably really a question of which club is closest to you (BDOC at Mitchell, CDC at Narrabundah/Symonston or Tuggeranong at Tuggers)

Burkes
If you are looking for a purely positive trainer in the ACT I've heard good and bad about Paul Welch - the Canine Coach. He is Delta trained.
