cassie
As the title reads, has anyone ever bought a dog dryer from eBay? There are a couple I'm looking at: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?index=0&sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=140985159645 http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?index=0&sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=390474102247 http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?index=0&sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=350829156197 There's heaps of others too. The prices just seem too good to be true, so I'm thinking they probably are? What's a good wattage for a dog dryer?
minxy
I don't remember the details on my one, but I got it on eBay for under $100. Have had it for 3 years now and I love it. Edit: I think from memory mine was about $80 Edited July 7, 2013 by minxy
cassie
What brand minxy? I've found a few for under $100 and I figure I may as well try one for that price???
Mim
I got mine off eBay for <$200 and it's great. I imagine the more expensive, reputable brands would be better but for a pet owner with three double coated dogs it saves me a lot of time and gives good results. I think I got it about three years ago and I've never had an issue.

Use these dryers and when they fail throw them away as they are not worth getting them repaired at this price. Also disregard the wattage rating as almost all quote figures are not true as there is no regulation or policing on these dryers from China. The true power of a dryer is it's current rating. Dryers such as Oldfield made here in Australia have a current rating in amps on the nameplate.
cassie
I got mine off eBay for <$200 and it's great. I think I got it about three years ago and I've never had an issue. Well I own two double coated giant breeds, one of which I show. So it would be used once or twice a month on him and a few times a year on the other pet dog. I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and buy a name brand more expensive one. These are just soooo cheap though that I think I want to try one first!

ness
I have one of these which I use for my two BCs - http://www.ebay.com....t-/280861826969 ETA. I went back and looked at your links and it looks the same as those ones. Does the job and I have had it 4 years and its still going fine. nedsur
I'm pretty sure mine is the same as the first one but has a yellow casing. I've had it a few years and I have shelties so double coated and have never had a problem with it. It's really powerful and I can't turn it up much higher than halfway. Generally twin motor dryers take around 8 to 10amps
Pretty Miss Emma
I bought one off ebay not long ago for around $80. Have used it a few times and it is great!! I'm sure a more expensive one would be better and maybe a little quieter. But with 1 show dog and 1 pet dog this one does everything I need and like you say it was too cheap not to try it!! Tassie
I have the same as ness. :D Customer service from the seller was good, and the machine has been fine .. touch wood. Used fairly often in the first couple of years when the boy was showing more regularly (BC) .. bit less this year, but (touch wood) still going fine. Having said that, the Lazor one at the $195 would be well worth looking at I'd reckon.
BC Crazy
I too have a Lazor RX & love my as well. Does a great job. I have 2 Border Collie's & wouldn't be without it
cassie
Is it overly noisy BC Crazy?
BC Crazy
It is fairly noisy I guess. Having said that I have not heard any other dog dryer so I couldn't tell you if it is louder than others. I love the fact with them though that you can regulate the strength of heat & speed. So if you have a puppy/dog who is lets say sensitive to having there head/ears dried you can slow it right down to get them used to it :) I don't show my guys but I do keep them clean. They are both washed every 3 weeks & they swim daily. So my dryer gets used a fair bit, lots in winter. I use it in summer if need be with the heat off. Best $$$ I have spent Imo :) Edited July 10, 2013 by BC Crazy
