Flyers' four-legged friends will earn a minimum 300 points for a domestic flight for frequent flyer Velocity red members. Silver members' pets earn 450 points, gold 525 points and platinum 600 points. Velocity chief Neil Thompson says the addition of pets will allow members to build on the family benefits including the ability to pool points and status credits with family members “Virgin Australia flies almost 30,000 pets each year around Australia, and a large proportion are owned by Velocity members," Thompson says. Human travellers with pets will continue to earn the same amount of points on their flights. www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/pets
Linda K
ssdly it only encompasses pets travelling with owners on the same flight - unaccompanied pets will not attract any points, and also does not cover international flights
