indigirl
Freezing cold and I have a litter due next week. Due to having a houseful of visitors the whelping area has to be in an unheated part of the house. I have a lamp but thinking I will also need some type of heat pad. Tried a snugglesafe last night but it didn't even hold heat for 6 hrs. What is the best/ most economical type of heat pad that will do the job? Mjosa
I have a heat pad, the second one in 15 years, it is the top of the range made in Australia and I purchased it from Pets On the Park in NSW, bought it about six weeks ago and it cost $89 plus psotage, it is freezing here at night at this time of the year, I have a singleton puppy and that is all I needed to keep him warm, put a minky blanket over it and when he was tiny I would put the minky over the top of him, he also has a Mr. Tigger wheat bag, I never got the heat lamp out at all, costs way too much in electricity. This heat pad has three settings high medium and low and very very economical to run. Just google Pets on the park and search heat pads on their site. Best of luck with the babies next week. SwaY
I prefer a heat lamp as it also heats the air the puppies breathe in.
goldielover
I usually use a panel heater in the room then heat pads. Does anyone know where to get a decent heat lamp from? I looked into them a few years ago but got distracted!
