kelpiecuddles
My basset has quite a sticky out breast bone and I find most harnesses don't sit well on her as the strap that runs down the chest slips to one side or the other. Anyone able to recommend something that might solve this? Even better if it has a car attachment as that's what we use it for but I'll just use a short clip attachment if not. minimax
What about one with a thicker chest piece, like the puppia style ones?

'Black Dog' make one that goes across the chest rather than down...
kelpiecuddles
I think the puppia ones would be worse unfortunately. Atleast with the ones where the chest piece is seperate it just slides to the side, I think the puppia one would have the whole harness twisted unfortunately. I'll have a look at Black Dog and see what they have :)
minimax
What about a step in one, they go across the chest, not down? Rogz have ones like that. Duh, just saw someone already suggested it, sorry lol Edited June 13, 2013 by minimax
LisaCC
How about the Ezydog Quick Fit harness if you have a local Petbarn they stock them and will let you try them on your dog in store
kelpiecuddles
The ezydog might work as long as the strap sits above her breast bone rather than crossing over it, I think it would rub if it did. Might have to take her for a drive in to town one day and try a few on.
LisaCC
Hopefully you can find one that sits correctly. Petbarn was really good when we had to try on harnesses with Sam for after an operation, normal harnesses and collars would of rubbed over the operation sites so we tried on lots of harnesses and settled with the Ezydog one. Dame Aussie
I'd try an easy walker harness, they go horizontally across the chest and under the belly rather than needing a strap in the middle of the chest
RubyBlue
It seems a lot of the people who race eurohounds or other hound type dogs in harness have a similar problem. You may be able to find something on the sledding sites that'll suit your needs. There is (hopefully) an example in the link below. http://www.sleddogcentral.com/features/products/howlingdog_hound.htm
Nekhbet
http://www.ezydog.com.au/convert-harness/ give these a go, nice and soft, don't rub anywhere and easy to put on the dog. They have a big D ring behind the handle so you can clip her in the car with a short leash.
DesertDobes
I have an ezydog harness for tracking, used to use a step in harness but I didn't like it as it twists to the side if the dog pulls that way. The ezydog one has some sort of hard stuff inside what I call the saddle of the harness and this prevents it from rolling- as you can see my dog has a big pointy chest but the new harness is very adjustable so we have the chest strap sit on top of his pointy bits!
