Is There A Home Out There For Ubu? Almost 10yo Male Blue Heeler

Recommended Posts

Meet the gorgeous Ubu who after being cared for at the shelter for more than 1 year he has been surrendered for rehoming.

At almost 10 years old Ubu is still an active boy who is just a delight and the staff adore him. He is looking for an owner who is prepared to be owned in the way that only Blueys can, Ubu wont want to share you so he will need to be an only dog. Plenty of balls and toys are an absolute must. I am absolutely gobsmacked that Ubu hasnt been snapped up already.

I saw him yesterday and what a doll! All the dogs were going off and he was just laying quietly in his kennel

He looks such a gorgeous boy

He is lovely and so funny. Ubu had a failed adoption recently where he was returned after a few days, poor babe has been depressed ever since. :(

I will spread the word about Ubu. Unfortunately we have had ongoing issues with our website which has prevented us from loading up new dogs, but a new one is under construction and hopefully will be live soon. We will then put Ubu up. I'm sure there is a home out there for him, he looks like a very cool character.

How sad  Any ideas as to why? Just a poor choice by the adopters?

Ive been looking for an old cattle boy but he wouldn't be an only dog. Such a shame as he is just my type of boy....

Good luck Ubu. What a handsome boy.

Just a thought ..... if Ubu has been kennelled for over a year (obviously he would have been having play and exercise sessions) how do you know for sure the he isn't good with other dogs.

In another situation, with another person (particularly someone as experienced as baifra), he might be completely different from how he presents in the shelter.

I do understand that it would take a huge leap of faith to try to discover that.

Ubu is gorgeous  unfortunately I do not have room for any more :(

My Cattle girl sounds very similar in that she does always not like to share us with our boy but as long as the attention is equally divided (or she gets a little bit more :p) she is pretty happy. And if she feels like she is being left out she'll just head nudge you until the focus is back on her lol :)

I hope Ubu gets the best home to live out the rest of his days.

I think it was a case of the adopters having another dog and Ubu didnt get along with it.

I agree absolutely. I am not sure of the exact circumstances, but the shelter would be able to give more information. I have sent them an email, just awaiting reply

Thankyou, he is too lovely a boy to be stranded at the shelter.

That's great, gillbear. My thinking is that as much information as possible just might help tip the balance in Ubu's favour.

I am firmly of the opinion that there is a home for every adoptable dog - it is just getting the information "out there" so that person can be found ...... and that is where you do such a wonderful service for these dogs.

Is he listed on petrescue?

Has anyone considered AWDRI for this boy?

I am in Queensland with a GSPx an ACD bitsa and a grumpy cat.

If he could get along with the cat, then I would sort out the other

two nutters.

Sorry I cannot read without specs.

Honestly, the RSPCA should hand him over to AWDRI.

He would be in foster care within days and they could

promote him properly.
