mr.mister
I know it depends on the vet, but can anyone give me a ballpark figure? I need to get my new dog done and have to save up a bit.

*kirty*
Spill!! I think from memory the heartworm snap test is around $45. I've only had it done once and that number comes to mind.
mr.mister
Details on Friday when I pick him up. Is that all?? The rescue I got him from told me they don't do it as its too expensive for them

*kirty*
You'd have to be pretty unlucky to get heartworm in Victoria from what I've been told. And I guess adding $45 to every animal does add up. But how exciting!! Can't wait to see what you've got. :)
Rebanne
Heartworm is in Victoria. My neighbors dog had it and it isn't the only one I know of.
Alibi
I would think most vets would charge a consult fee on top of that so might make it over $100.
iggy mum
Cost me about $80 a few months ago

chuckandsteve
$35 at my vet but he doesnt recommend it fordogs under 2 years as the heartworm wouldnt be mature so we just treat for heartworm if under 2. But yeah you have to pay for consult too. Also my vet told me one in 100 will be positive in Victoria so i guess its a small risk but a real one
