smashtank
Tank vomited around 3:00am. Just a little in his crate and then twice again afterwards. The first one in his crate contained more gunky vomit with one solid bit - looked like a small bit of poo. The next two (out of crate) were watery clearer frothy bile-like. Is he okay? I don't think he over ate yesterday - maybe a little. I did cut mince yesterday (more so because I ran out) and didn't soak his dry food in water. I just tried to get him to drink some water, but no interest. I checked his crate and there is no trace of poo or smell so I don't think he ate that and then vomit it up. He's back sleeping again now in his crate. I'll keep an eye on him rest of the night. We both have to work in office today but can both duck home at lunch to check. tdierikx
Feed him a small breakfast this morning, and see if he'll drink water. It's possible he's eaten/chewed something that didn't agree with him. Odds are he'll be fine this morning - pups usually bounce back pretty quickly from tummy upsets. If he's not interested in breakfast or water this morning, maybe duck home at lunch and if he's still off, take him to the vet. T.
smashtank
He seemed fine this morning. Ate a good amount. Drank some water. And ran around the apartment. He did a small poo and a big wee. I think he's fine but i will check anyway at lunch.
Dame Aussie
The 3am vomit is a regular occurrence in our house. Usually it's because they need to get rid of a bit of bone, sometimes puppies and dogs can get hungry too which can make them vomit.

smashtank
Ah ok. Interesting! Normally he gets up around 2am for a pee but tonight I slept through that. Wonder if that was why - this was the first time. Freaked me out!

YvonneM
Banjo has chucked a couple of times in the early hours of the morning and I was beside myself with worry .... this thread has allayed my fears and I am putting it down to just a puppy thing .... his vomit has mostly just been frothy biley stuff .... nothing of substance. He gets his breakfast at 4.30 though, so I am not getting up an earlier to feed him if it's an empty tummy! He always scoffs most of his breakfast down! JackC
So glad I'm reading this all now so if Koda does this when I get him I won't be fretting like a mad man. as long as he recovers within the day then I can put it down to puppy stomachs, otherwise will seek vet advice

JackC
Have you ever starved yourself? Humans do it too, I was on a hike in Africa with the old man and we got trapped in a 6 day storm, 4 days without food and you start vomiting. Melina Bea
Yeah I always feel sick if I haven't eaten in a long time. In the case of a hungry puppy, much better for it to vomit than get hypoglycaemic. Now THAT's scary!

moosepup
+1 for Nacho for doing a vomit in his crate at 6.30am rather than 3am. -1000000 for doing it on a Sunday.
