I am going to make a bed with minky for our new pup when she arrives. Looking at options of stuffing at the moment and I was wondering what people thought would be better crumbed foam or feathers? Both would be inclosed in PUL which is is stay dry fabric used in making modern cloth nappies and then have an outer made in minky so would hopefully mean the inside needs less washing that the outside.

Thoughts please. TIA :)

crumbed foam can get lumpy, feathers can hold smell. personally I'd get some of the polyfill, that way you can throw it in the washing machine if needed, PUL will be fine through the wash obviously but i would consider making only one side out of PUL otherwise when you wash it it will be hard to spin the water out

puppies love things in which they can burrow/snuggle ... so several minky/polar fleece/wool blankets jumbled together in a crate /box /kennel with maybe newspaper on the floor of it ? I am all for simplicity/practicality :o

Pretty 'mattresses' look nice ..but try & see the bed from a puppy point of view ;)
