My partner's family are over for dinner tonight and his mum put her gross chewed up nicotine gum on the table and then let Booker up on her lap and he ate it!!! Do I need to be worried about this? I was inside making dinner and didn't see it - otherwise I would have said something when he jumped on her lap.... Can he be poisoned from a piece or two? If you can find out how much was ingested in relation to the size of the dog it would probably help the vet advise you if you can't get there. Hope he is ok. As a veteran of the Sunday night dash due to a dog that has an uncanny knack of getting injured/ill out of hours, I have a lot of sympathy! Just looked up the ingredients list online and it didn't have any xylitol that I could see. Something called sorbitol though.... Vet has said to keep an eye on him but being such a small amount it should be fine. It always stresses me out when they come over. They've never had dogs and just don't have a clue.
