Socialisation Classes Only? Melbourne

Does anyone run just socialisation classes for dogs? I want to work on Toby's confidence around other dogs, and after this morning's incident I think I should do something ASAP. Eastern suburbs of Melbourne would be ideal.

I use Underdog's training classes for this - small groups and Stuart and Tamara know I don't like dogs in Lucy's face and we've never had an issue. Croydon runs socialisation classes but I would never take a dog that had issues with being attacked there - dogs have absconded every time I have been there.

Thanks. :) We used to go to Croydon and loved it, but unfortunately it clashes with my son's football so we haven't been for over a year. Toby has always been anxious around strange dogs (despite puppy school and trying hard to socialise her) but thankfully isn't aggressive at all. Might shoot Tamara an email. :)

I swear some dogs have TARGET written across their forehead. Ziggy certainly does and had an Aussie Shepherd launch an attack at his throat in the middle of focussed heel work! No eye contact from Zig - soft body and having fun. He decked the Aussie quick smart. This was not the first time something like this has happened (at training and elsewhere) but fortunately he won't start anything and is not fearful or reactive. I think it's worth being careful with fearful or reactive dogs as an off leash dog that is "only playing" can be very threatening.

Definitely! Champa is one of those dogs!I don't want or expect Toby to love other dogs, I just want her to be comfortable/confident around them. And Stand Poos can be prone to DA I've been told so I certainly don't want that.
