Teebs
My guys have always had coats on during the day. It gets bloody cold here and they only have a garage for shelter when not home I've never had an issue with it

This is double polar fleece, they also have the same but with a waterproof outer, batting and polar fleece and courdroy and polar fleece with a shorter neck

Bundyburger
My vizsla wears his coat 24/7 this time of year. He would freeze to death otherwise. The Velcro comes undone if there is any pressure on his neck, so no chance of him getting stuck. Edited May 26, 2013 by Bundyburger

Jade~Harley~Bella
I wouldn't leave a coat on all day, I do live in Qld and my dogs are sunbakers though so they would get way to hot during the day. Unsupervised I think is fine though so long as you know the dog can't get all tangled etc in the coat.
Steph M
Mum leaves her little shih-tzu in one sometimes, but we all know she's not likely to get out of bed unless she has to whiz, and even then...straight back to bed.

LOL, thanks for the offer but I'm not much of a sewer, {and I don't mean a smelly sewer - phew lol} wouldn't know how to read a pattern. I'm in awe of all you people that can make things from scratch! I just thought, instead of sewer I should've said seamstress
