Leela and PJ
Does anyone know where I can buy good quality dog tags? My dogs are always out digging and rolling in the dirt, running in the rain and what not and the pet tags are just not lasting. I have just bought some aluminium tags and they are so thin and flimsy I can't see them lasting long. Any suggestions?
BCNut
pettagembossing.com.au I had the same issue so got some of these, they're really sturdy and the characters dont rub off because they're embossed (obviously). There's some other ones that slip onto the collar that are supposed to be pretty good if you prefer that style but not sure of the address for them. Spoilt I know! I just bought the stainless steel ones from pet tag embossing :)
Shmurps
We've had these on the dog collars for about 5 years. "The Slide on" ones. http://www.boomerangtags.com/store/index.php?A=G&ID=4 Edited May 12, 2013 by Shmurps
Cleo's Corgwyn
I recently bought a couple of these; http://www.rozart.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=280&category_id=32&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=29&vmcchk=1&Itemid=29 They're marine grade plastic, and she'll put pretty much any design that you want onto them (she found the Cardigan corgi design just for me). minimax
Etsy +1 I have a few favourite sellers on etsy where I get my tags, and people are always asking when I get them. My guys swim a lot, so their tags are waterproof, and not too expensive as they also somehow lose them a lot (regardles of how I attach them!) http://www.etsy.com/shop/CaliforniaKitties http://www.etsy.com/shop/HollywoodPups http://www.etsy.com/shop/CaliforniaMutts http://www.etsy.com/shop/ThePetTags http://www.etsy.com/shop/PoochTags
Red Fox
http://www.boomerangtags.com/ Boomerang tags. The plastic ones will last a lifetime, otherwise the s/s collar tags.
karly101
Also recommend boomerang. I bought some of etsy and whilst they look cute they just didn't hold up! The slide on tag from boomerang is really nice and strong.
smooch
We have these on all our dogs, they used to loose tags in a short time, these have been on them for a few years now. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DOG-TAG-ID-PET-NAME-LARGE-BRASS-GOLD-BUY-1-GET-1-FREE-/121071305053?pt=AU_Pet_Supplies&hash=item1c3069815d
j
I haven't used any of these, and I don't have any of the collars, but I have seen a few dogs around wearing these types of collars and thought they were a great idea. Might be worth considering rather than a tag. http://www.petcollars.com.au/collections/dog-embroidered-collars http://www.whatsyourname.com.au/faq.php http://www.dogidcollar.com/ http://bestydogcollars.com/

juice
I got 3 off Etsy for mine, but really unhappy with the quality. The name engraving is so close to the bottom of the tag its hardly readable, the copper metal goes almost black after a week or so, i have used a light sandpaper to shine it up again, and found on 2 of them other names and numbers on the back faintly, so clearly i have been sold used ones. They are not the same as yours Leela, but similar, they had little silver metal hearts or flowers over the top of the copper tag. Also i lost one in a week as the rings are weak and the tag came off it. I had bought really nice new leather collars so wanted something a bit different, i like the look of those ones Smooch. minimax
Etsy is a place for people to host their shops, Etsy isn't a shop itself. There are millions of different stores on Etsy, it's like ebay (but ... really not  ) So for everyone saying Etsy isn't good, just try a different store. It's like going down the street and saying no that street isn't any good as one shop didn't have something you liked. There are heaps more shops in the street. juice
yes i know what etsy is, :D i was just mentioning it as alot of the tags seem to be made in the same design from shop to shop.
fainty_girl
If you're not in a hurry to buy tags, I normally get mine from this ebay seller. There aren't any listed at the moment though because the seller is away, but you could always favourite the page and check on it in the near future. http://myworld.ebay.com.au/zirphx/ The tags are hand engraved and are always lovely. alpha bet
Why not consider having the collar which has name and phone number engraved on it.... no tags to fall off. I have them for our dogs - and a couple spare with my number if I take any friends dogs out with me. look up the website: personalisedpet.com.au
mish13
Why didn't I see all this a couple of days ago, I just ordered new name tags for a couple of my dogs because they keep falling off. Would much rather the name and number on their collar.
