Starkehre
Last week at Countrywide Cottages, our dogs had their usual fun time in the dam each day. Fame took an extra day to go in and this video shows her first swim for the week. Please feel free to roll around laughing at her very "Different" swimming style, I know I was whilst videoing. She is having fun and that's all that matters. * for the knockers, Fame has been swimming like this for 2.5 years. We have tried everything to correct it, but she is actually playing. She is splashing the water and biting at the splashes she makes. she does the same thing in inches of water. It is what she enjoys and it keeps her fit :D Edited May 1, 2013 by dyzney
Little Gifts
It's kind of her own version of the butterfly - also an exhausting stroke! Very funny!

Loving my Oldies
What fun they are having You must have had a slight panic the first time you saw her, though: OMG! She's drowning. Many years ago, I had a little dog who used to "bite" at the water. I discovered it when I watered the garden, so I'd flick the hose from side to side and she would be chasing the water, leaping up, snapping at it and shrieking with delight like a little child. God knows what anyone hearing it thought I'd be exhausted long before Flora was ready to stop. Love those big beautiful Rotties
Teebs
 I look the same when I swim!! God I'm in love, I think as much as I want a bullterrier, that a rottie is going to be my next dog!
kiesha09
One of my dogs starts of swimming exactly like Fame and then probbly 15 seconds later she starts swimming normally  It's very funny! She looks like she's having the best fun!
mixeduppup
Haha! She reminds me of my old dog Dawny, you couldn't swim with her because she'd swim at you with those feet

God knows what anyone hearing it thought I'd be exhausted long before Flora was ready to stop. Love those big beautiful Rotties DD, it did take me a while to get accustomed to it. and I NEVER allow her to swim without me being 100% supervised... just in case anything happens. She takes in a lot of water. I also call it off when I think she has had enough because otherwise I reckon she would swim until she dropped, she loves it so much. Fame started doing this when she was around 3 months of age in the clam shell pool. She made a little splash with her left leg and bit at the splash... that was the start of her brilliant swimming career  she is obsessive about her splashing in the lowest levels of water even, so when it came time o the real thing, she simply transferred it to the deep water, and this is the end result. We make jokes about taking our washing to the dog pool each week cause she agitates the water so much :D

tlc
That was gorgeous! The most specialist doggy swimmer I have ever seen. One of my girls is similar in that she swims with her top half out of the water.
