Rosetta
Happened in Victoria, according to my source. Vic RSPCA. Can you link to the source with some information? A picture on FB doesn't scream legit to me. I have nothing else, which is why I am asking. The blurb said he was the face of the million paws walk, failed the temperament, because he turned his head away when they wanted to look at his teeth - not bit, just turned his head, and then he got the chop. Bloody disgusting I am surprised any dogs meet all the criteria that satisfies the RSPCA. So you know this dog in question has been PTS ? or just jumping on the RSPCA hate wagon as usual ? Can you please direct your response to the person making the claim and what do you mean "as usual"?? I am reacting to the information provided by Jed. I am bit tired of having sh..t thrown at me for making comments no different or worse than other posters quite frankly. How about reacting to posts 3, 5, 9 or 18?? Sheridan
The OP has only asked if it was true not claiming that it is.

To be honest, I'll happily drive the hate wagon given the chance. This particular issue aside, the RSPCA as a company has done enough over the years to deserve every scrap of hate it gets tenfold. For all creatures great and small? Please. There seems to be a typo there, they seem to have dropped the word "death" from the front of their slogan, which would be a lot more accurate. megan_
RL was quoting rossetta, who assumed that the info was true. Just because someone doesn't believe everything posted on FB, or believes that some people in the RSPCA do good work doesn't make them apologists for the whole organization. WoofnHoof
I often go to the local one because the lure coursing club sets up their course there, it's the social event of the year for the dog lol
tdierikx
As far as I'm concerned, their logo should read "all donations large or small"... Dog only knows where the millions of dollars worth of donations go each year - I'm not seeing any of it being used to improve the local facilities/shelter near me - in fact they are trying to get the State government to pay for an upgrade... *sigh* T. The ACT branch seems to be the one doing the most and it's notable they don't have any money.
Pollywaffle
I know someone involved in a legal capacity at the Ipswich RSPCA and you couldn't find a more dedicated to animal causes person anywhere..so I guess as an organisation it has its detractors, but at grass roots there are some people with hearts definitely in the right place. tarope
Not the first time the R$PCA has killed dogs for money, remember poor Clifford... yet some people still support this vile private organisation. :mad Another few examples. http://lawyersforcompanionanimals.com.au/rspca-cops-a-serve-over-two-dead-dogs/ http://www.careaware.info/euthanasia.html http://www.savingpets.com.au/2013/02/not-so-precious-when-an-ear-infection-proves-fatal/

That is the case with so many organisations, Pollywaffle. Those at the grass roots are working their butts off, scrimping and saving and giving their hearts and minds, while those at the top are living the high life, squandering resources and, it would seem in the case of the RSPCA, spending millions on legal fees, directors' remuneration, high profile and often malicious prosecutions, etc etc.
tdierikx
Ummm... the AWL have the same policing powers as the RSPCA, yes? Wouldn't it be interesting if they did a spot check on some RSPCA shelters? I wonder if anyone has reported an RSPCA shelter to AWL? T.
