Kahnazhu
Hi all, I just wanted to see what people thought about feeding my large breed raw turkey carcass? I managed to get some really cheap, but then i thought that I'd heard people feed turkey necks but I don't think i'd heard anyone say they use the carcass. Any thoughts would be appreciated! piper
Sounds fantastic, I see no reason why not except for the sheer size of them. Might be better cutting them into pieces if they are too much for a single meal.
Kahnazhu
Thanks Piper! I'm trying to get some weight on her so I'll try giving her a whole one and see how she goes.
Boronia
My lot sometimes get turkey necks, when reading this post I was visualizing mine, lined up, each with a turkey carcass in front of them. Big noms
Clyde
Thanks Piper! I'm trying to get some weight on her so I'll try giving her a whole one and see how she goes. I think turkey is quite a lean meat. Brisket and chook wings might be better for weight gain? But the turkey carcass is great for her either way. You have a lot of jealous dogs here. blakkjackal
Turkey carcass sounds very bony (if it's anything like chicken frames). I'd feed, but accompanied with extra meat as most of the time the carcass has been stripped off most meat. Bones aren't going to help her gain weight, she can't use them up as energy. Try adding some fat in her diet. :) Pork and lamb maybe?
