Type/brands Of Heating Mats For Dog Beds -

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking of getting a couple of heating mats for the dog and cat for this winter.

They both weigh about 5 kgs - so two of the same would probably fit! :D

Of course, there are a few options out there - and not enough information on many of them.'

So I'd certainly appreciate some information from DOLers who have experience with these, please???

I buy mine from E-bay here there are so many to pick from. I have one that I can adjust the temp just like an electric blanket, in fact I can see the temp setting displayed as in numerals.

After reading another thread here I have just bought a snugglesafe for my soon to be home furbaby (4 sleeps to go!). Prices seem to vary greatly and I bought it on ebay for just under $45 including postage, Petbarn were $79!

I've just bought 2 of those self warming mats Sheena posted. Going to try them outside in the kennel over winter when the dogs have to be outside while I am at work.

i have the pink plastic one that goes into the microwave - bought it for winter litters but sometimes i use it myself if my back is bad and i can attest it does stay warm all night and some, if wrapped up.

i forgot what they are called, but i bought the round plastic ones you heat in the microwave too for last year.

i wrapped them in a pillow case and they lasted all night outside in the kennels, they were still warm in the mornings. :)
