Esky the husky
I want to put some more weight on Esky, I don't want her to end being a flabby guts though. Any tips to safely add weight to a sporting dog ?
becks
feed a bit more :) so long as she is getting exercise and not gorging, then she should up the weight a bit, if she puts on to much, to knoch back the food a tad.
❤LovesPoodles❤
I've been feeding Royal Canin Energy has a higher fat content. No complaints here Lexi is doing really well on it Edit: she also gets chicken wings, bones etc. Edited April 19, 2013 by krystal&coco
WreckitWhippet
Feed her a quality protein source, such as some additional raw meat on the bone, mix it up to include chicken, lamb, rabbit, beef etc. If you feed dry then perhaps look at RC 4800, Proplan Performance, Canidea Pure Elements, Advance Active
espinay2
More protein and fat. Of course depends on the amount and type of exercise. I do love it when science confirms experience and you have the article on tap Espinay )
Esky the husky
Ok good to hear that we're on the right track. :) I've upped her evening meal in the last 2 weeks and changed from a 70% roo 30% beef blend to an 80% chicken 20% roo mixture. Kibble we feed currently is Earthborn which has good macros 38% protein 20% fat. Excercise is about 3-4 days a week sled racing training ( or equal running ) and a little weight pull practice.
