Loving my Oldies
It's not my job to teach people how to read. The comment was made in context, and within the dialogue between the OP and myself. Do you ever stray into the realm of effective communication? It's not literacy that's the issue here but people struggling to understand what you're actually on about. Situation normal. Someone may know the meaning of 90% of words in the dictionary, but what matter that if they can't string a few of them together to form effective communication? Glad you did something about it Alyosha, it could have gotten a lot worse. I hope this doesn't turn into another thread trying to decipher what Tralee really means, there's another 2 of those in action already  Sorry MP :). It may be another 10 years of being on DOL before Sheridan and I agree on anything. I have to make the most of it.

Mrs Rusty Bucket
I find the simplest way to deal with what Tralee really means is not to care. You slipped up this time - sigh. So have I. Sometimes I agree with what you post and sometimes I find your posts a bit mean.
Alyosha
Thanks guys. Tralee included - I did get your meaning. :) Dog was desexed yesterday. Owner grumbling that it was expensive and inhumane and offensive to dogs' manhood... Dear oh dear... And there are moves afoot to engage some parenting classes and supervision about the state of the house and care of the kids. So some good things. Fingers crossed it can be maintained. I think teenage daughter is feeling a little empowered - after she saw me speak up about dog and things happened, she has spoken up about other things and got some results. Tassie
Well done! That took a lot of courage and determination, but with any luck, this could be the start of some better times for this family.

Your boy seems to have chosen a good gal . I hope too that the changes (crikey getting the dog desexed is HUGE!!) continue and they are the start of better times ahead. Alyosha
 I'm not sure desexing would help DD.... :D Funny how little things can have a flow on effect though. Yes it was a nerve rattler... But maybe for the best really.

Yes it was a nerve rattler... But maybe for the best really. But at least it means the rangers aren't going to take "punitive" action and he won't be going around making other little dogs who may not have a family friend as good as you are   The biggy is that if the father is prepared to spend the money even though the dog has been treated in an inhumane manner and one that is offensive to his manhood , it means (hopefully) that he can be reasoned with. Mrs Rusty Bucket
Well done Alyosha I especially like the bit where the teenage girl (gf?) feels more able to stand up for herself and what she cares about now. That's wonderful. Seems like the kids have some nag power in that household so the more they know about how to look after each other and the dog, the better. Poor father - who knew his nuts were joined with the dog's?
