LisaCC
Ferrets aren't rodents Yea I saw that, but it also says GIANT RAT in the address. If they think ferret = Giant rat, doubt they know they are actually Mustelids.
_PL_
Ferrety eyes and nose, god knows what they've done to it the poor thing. I think 'Brazilian Rat' is more colloquial. And this story sounds almost identical to the Mexican Rat story. Must have been a slow news day in Argentina or a planted story to put people off buying from the animal peddlers in illegal markets. LisaCC
I have a book somewhere with little stories about dogs on every page, most a quite funny. This reminds me of one. It was about a man that bought a "Rare mountain dog" from some country, and when he went home and took it to the vets he was told it was a bear cub . Not sure if it's true or just an urban legend but I've heard it outside of this book too.

cannibalgoldfish
The full grown "ferret" is a black footed ferret, endangered species :D (an American endangered species in fact...) Edited April 8, 2013 by cannibalgoldfish
mantis
That reminds me of the Fawlty Towers episode, where Manuel bought that rat & was told it was Syberian hamster. Edited April 10, 2013 by mantis
Nekhbet
what a load - that's not on steroids it's an angora ferret. Those inbred buggers grow to ridiculously huge sizes and have long coats, but their lifespan is short.
Pollywaffle
I find this story distasteful on so many levels....
