Loving my Oldies
I was asked in another thread what arrangements I have made for my dogs when I die. I knew this subject had been addressed on several occasions and because it is always timely to remind people, I have put some links here: http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/192101-retirement-homes-for-dogs/page__p__4411022__hl__%22trust+fund%22__fromsearch__1#entry4411022 http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/169776-what-would-happen-to-your-dog-if-you-died/page__p__3765879__hl__%22trust+fund%22__fromsearch__1#entry3765879 http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/135367-is-your-dog-in-your-legal-will/page__p__2666456__hl__%22trust+fund%22__fromsearch__1#entry2666456
shirra
This is a timely reminder for me DD. I've thought about it, but haven't put anything in place. Must do so.
HazyWal
Stan and Maddie will go down to Greyhound Haven Tasmania to be rehomed by Hardys Angel as I know she will find the best of homes for them. I don't want them to ever be seperated as Maddie just adores Stan and I trust HA 100%. All costs will be covered by me including fridge locks. I may have forgotten to tell HA about my plans

ellz
Any animals that I have will be cared for by my remaining family members (ie my children) if at all possible. If their circumstances don't allow it, provision will be made for euthanasia...without guilt or fear of recrimination. This is with the exception of my Stafford boy Roger who will be euthanased immediately upon my passing. He is too high management and too much of a mummy's boy to expect anybody else to have to deal with.
Remarkabull
Acheron would have to be PTS. He is DA and has fear based issues that I wouldn't e pect others to deal with, he is also incredibly attached to me and I don't think he'd cope we'll. I'd want my small fluffy to go to my parents if possible or my eldest daughter. The JRT would adjust to being rehomed as long as she got kissed and cuddled and I'd hope my sister would take my Bulldog, although she could be rehomed too. megan_
I have, and I have asked the person who will take Fergus. No point in making arrangements if the other person didn't agree. I knew I had picked the right person (my younger sister) when she said she would need to think about it and discuss it with her husband. I didn't want someone to just say "yes" without thinking through the impacts on their family and life. Lucy goes to heaven.
Pollywaffle
if OH or I go (perish the thought just yet)...then our two 'go' as well..it's stipulated in our Will.

minimax
I don't have a will, because I don't really have any assets or dependents I never thought about needing one. But now I have 4 legged dependents I should probably think about having a formal will drawn up.
Loving my Oldies
I don't have a will, because I don't really have any assets or dependents I never thought about needing one. But now I have 4 legged dependents I should probably think about having a formal will drawn up. Whether you think you own nothing or not, anyone who dies intestate leaves a potential nightmare for those left behind. Aren't you in a partnership? That needs to be considered as well. :) ETA: If you work, you have superannuation. Edited April 8, 2013 by Danny's Darling
mantis
Cougar will go back to Staffy Rescue. When I had Kenny, my kids knew that he would have to PTS, because of his FA & his severe separation anxiety. Thankfully he went before me, so I got to cuddle & kiss him while he got the green dream. Tazar
It is something I need to sort out for my living pets, along with the rest of the will stuff! All my past pets who now reside in wooden boxes, will be opened and their ashes will be put at my feet so we will never be apart. At this rate it will be very strong men carrying my coffin as it will weigh a tonne with all the pets I have had :D
Bjelkier
If I pass away my partner keeps the dogs, the co owned ones would go to their other owners. If we both died the dogs would go to their breeders/my breeder friends and they would be rehomed by them.
eschlachter
Hi guys, Great thread. It is so important to have plans, and even more important to tell people about your plans! Thought I would join in, I'm a lawyer (in NSW) and a wills/estate administration specialist (just finished my masters in this area). Can answer general questions about wills and estate administration in NSW, if you like! My babies will stay with the o/h, or will go to my parents. This is one of those thoughts/plans that keeps you awake at night isn't it! Or it is for me anyway :) hate to even think about it, but one has to. So feel free to throw qu's at me, I can't be really specific but general questions/advice is totally fine :)
