redangel
I was reading a forum the other day that was talking about the provision in NYC that tripods are not permitted to be used in public places. Several people had been fined for this. One point was that only if you were shooting for commercial purposes & thus sectioning off an area it was deemed worthy of a penalty ticket. Another point is that it was implemented for safety reasons...ie duty of care. Though the discussions all different as to why...do we as amateurs have such restrictions in Australia? What is ones duty of care when setting up a tripod in a public place? I see many paid photo tours in the city-all using tripods. For non commercial shooters what is the rule? pesh
Might find you'd come under a public nuisance. Disrupting the public, endangering others, blah blah blah.
