Seeking A Cheaper Spinal Vet

My friends 9yo whippet has just been diagnosed with a partially ruptured disk.

She is looking for vet who might be able to use it as training operation because they cant afford the $1000's the surgery will cost (she has 3 kids).

Does anyone one know anyone who might be able to help put her in contact with someone. I have already suggested Werribee.

I am not familiar with the specialist options in Victoria, but are there clinical signs that mean that conservative management is not an option at all? (Like urinary retention, absence of deep pain response etc etc)

Can an organisation like Lort Smith be of help?

The Melbourne Pet Ambulance has an emergency vet fees fund but not sure how it works. They could also try GE finance - they also have a credit/loan system for emergency vet bills.

Check with Lort Smith, they do stuff like that sometimes.

How horrid I really hope they can find someone, or the money to have it done.

even with that, with people, they will still give you the option of seeing how it goes for a few weeks before doing an op.
