I feel shamed watching your vid HankOdie....shamed....:o

Willow is pretty good on the training field, at home, it's a disaster.

God Im glad im not the only one! At the dog school, Tyrion is GREAT. He has a ball, listens, lots of eye contact, heels for the most part etc. etc. Can I get him to do ANYTHING at home? No. I get out his treats, give him a command and he turns his back on me. So so so frustrating!

Zerelouh you sound like the best type of parent to encounter! Dog savvy and sensible with your kids.

I think it probably helps that I was raised in a rural area where you pretty much HAD to be dog aware. Plus we had Koolies (workers), then corgi's when we moved into town. I find kids raised in farming areas tend to be more dog aware than those raised in suburban areas. So even though I do live in town, I just carry on what I was taught as a kid. Though, my eldest son's kinder had responsible pet week where they had a person come with a Beagle and talk to them about dogs, do's and don'ts with dogs etc. recognising certain actions which could indicate a dangerous dog etc. So that was great. :)

Hank you did everything right and I'm surprised you had so much tolerance of those kids, I would have lost it.

She was technically a client so I was careful to bite my tongue :( I would've told them off otherwise, their behaviour was unreal!

Urgh, congratulations Hankodie, you survived horrible children!

I think you did as well as anyone could of hoped in that situation. I can't stand children so I definitely would of cracked it laugh.gif

Ohh and I like your training vid :)

I need to take one but I need to find a person to hold it, as our training sessions involve me running around like a dickhead lol!! I'll try to make one of a quiet inside game.

A client! That would have given me more reason to (politely) request she keep them in check.

I know! Honestly I was too shocked and afraid that anything I said would not have been on the polite side, more like "lady, keep your feral kids in check!" She was apologetic about it, but still.......

Its a difficult one! I've learnt to surround myself with friends who have simular parenting styles to me cause otherwise I have trouble dealing with kids who teach my kids to do things I've told them not too! lol Your Puppy sounds like he did VERY well though all things going on! Which, inadvertently possibly turned out to be a good learning experience for him.

Hi all sorry I have yet another question, I've been following the breeder's feeding guidelines very carefully, she stipulates that I can give Hank chicken necks, which I've bought for him today. Do I just give him one as is or do I need to cut it up? Odie isn't allowed any raw bones so I'm a little lost :o Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Nova has gotten the hang of ignoring people. This is this morning at quite a busy coffee shop, people on the tables either side of me, some with children and waitresses weaving between.

Bonus I only had to tell one person to please ignore him!

He's doing quite well. Though he is becoming a stubborn butthead and refusing to do things at puppy school, much like he does here at home. He'll turn his back on me. They told me a couple of ways to try and combat it. So will be implanting those this week when I go to train him. He thinks he is bigger than he actually is, has NO FEAR. Just bounds mindlessly up to dogs 5-6 times his size. So have to keep an eye on how he is interacting.

Our class has two merle aussies! :D One is darker and one is VERY pale, they're so cute.

I know Lhok! I keep looking at photos from only a few weeks ago, he has more than doubled in size! He was just under 4kg when I got him at 8weeks, and he was 10.3kg on Friday at 14weeks!

How are you and Treble going?

Great that Tyrion is going well, hopefully you can get his buttheadedness sorted out smile.gif

You should be fine to give him a whole one, though he will probably inhale it and freak you out! They definitely don't last long :)

Poor Nixon is very bored and doesn't understand why he can't play with anyone. We thought he'd stopped coughing, but he did it again earlier today, so the quarantine continues... Sigh. It's messed up his sleeping again too which is a PITA!,

Oops sorry hankodie, I posted at the same time as you and missed your post!

If your breeder thinks you can give him chicken necks give them whole. I don't give chicken necks to large pups/dogs as I worry too much about choking. Nova gets 1/2 a turkey neck instead! They are gigantic!

EDIT: Lol my autocorrect keeps correcting your name to Hankie

Have you seen those fancy mental stimulation food bowls... Hmm I can't think of what they are called, but they have heaps of moving parts and stuff. They could be good while you can't take him out.
