Lhok
Yay Congrats to Tyrion! I am so proud of Treble he has over come his fear exiting the car. Mind you he can pretty much step out of the back of the car but you should see him prepare to hop out, his butt goes up in the air and he wiggles his back feet towards the edge, looks over the edge and then back at me all the while tip toeing closer then he just steps out I must admit it is hilarious to watch and if I laugh he gets all grumbly and gruffs at me while walking slowly behind me. Also while we were travelling (treble does like the car moving very much) he gruffs and grumbles in the back. However today there was a car behind us that got a little too close for his comfort so he let out some "Back Off" wuffs (note not actual barking just some Wuff sound) at the car then when the car backed off a little he made some other grumble sound then laid down in the back without another noise. Since getting him I pretty much haven't stopped laughing at his antics  --Lhok

whippytails
Wow a 1kg a week. He will be a big boy. Roughly what age are they classed as fully grown? Casper is gorgeous, hopefully he doesnt have a reaction to the vaccination. Hows his crate training going? Lhok loving all of trebles antics, he seems like a very loving and entertain dog and you sound like you are really enjoying having him in your life. LisaCC
Whippy they aren't classed as fully grown/mature until 18 months or so. He will probably get to his full height 9mths-ish but they fill outwards then. Everywhere you look Aussies are classed as Medium sized dogs (I think they must go by height), but weight wise they tip into large breed, especially the boys. Taking him to the show tomorrow Casper is so lovely! Have fun keeping him that lovely white though!!
whippytails
Thanks Lisa, I dont know much about them but love the look of Nova. As in the local Ag show or entered into a dog show?
LisaCC
Local dog show, not entered as he is 3 days too young. But we are going to meet his breeder and learn the ropes :) It is a 3 day one so I went down and checked out some of the rings I won't be looking at tomorrow. Loved looking at all the beautiful sighthounds
whippytails
Might convert you across lol. Did you see an Saluki's today? Will be a great day out there and getting to check it all out before you show is a bonus.

Loved looking at all the beautiful sighthounds Hope you have lots of fun! I got my husband hooked, I'm the crazy dog one of us both and now he wants his own dog to show! (I said only if I can still get my dally pup next year, and he backed off damn it! I would have loved 2 puppies in the next year!) He even critiques me and the other handlers! But I have SO much fun :) I wish I had a whole lot of dogs to show because going a few hours down the road is not economical for one dog, and a neuter at that! lol. The best bit has been that I now know how to handle properly and can now confidently move forward with an entire dog next year. (p.s I love sneaking a look at the other rings. At the last show we were at we were halfway between our ring (toys, terriers and non-sporting) and the working dog and utility ring. Aussie sheps were SO GORGEOUS! And the collies and the shelties....)

LisaCC
Yes Whippy I got to see 3 beautiful Salukis! Two black tri's and another one that I'm not sure what you would call Body looked what I would call sable but had beautiful face markings. Also 3 Afghans including the fuzziest pup I've ever seen! It looked like a walking rug Lots and lots of beautiful Whippets too, unfortunately no blacks ones to sticky beak at! Dotdashdot, I know I'm already the crazy dog person in my relationship. My partner has a working ACD who wasn't a good worker so got her for a carton of beer. He understands why I go for pedigreed dogs etc, but he still thinks I'm crazy . Rebanne I won't be going down because I still haven't got all my DogsNSW forms sent down, I only just got his pedigree so now I have to send it off to transfer ownership, and become a member! whippytails
Wow Jack, Koda is looking so grown up. How was your day visiting the show today Lisa? Love Salukis but I am also not up on the colour names either :) How is everyone else puppies going? Are both Willow and Sumo going to Adelaide Royal? LisaCC
The show was good today :) Nova's sister has gotten so beautiful, gorgeous face on her. Nova was being perfectly good before and after we saw his breeder and was a ratbag while we saw them! But they are happy with him and I learnt the basics so we will see what happens in the future :) Edited August 4, 2013 by LisaCC
whippytails
Sounds like a great day out and good for Nova to catch up with his sister. Did he enjoy his day out too?
cassie
How is everyone else puppies going? Are both Willow and Sumo going to Adelaide Royal? Sumo is :) and I think Willow is too, but I'm sure Dory will pop back in to confirm that. It's only 5 weeks away eeeek! Sumo has gone a bit "bum high" at the moment so his topline is a bit out of whack, it's really bugging me actually! I want to fast forward 4 years and see him as a beautiful mature dog :p but then I want to rewind of course and come back to my baby puppy because he's such a darling. It's just such a wild ride watching a giant breed grow, as they can go a bit all over the place. Sometimes I'll be watching him in the backyard and he pulls out a cracking free stack and I just think "Wow!" and then other times he stands like a goof! Don't ever get a giant breed anyone, it's too stressful lol. I'm being silly really and over reacting as he shows so much potential. I just have to bide by time through this ugly phase  I'd love him to be a bit more balanced by the Royal :) On the up side I got some great handling tips from a couple of very experienced showies today, and it seemed to make a difference to how we worked together. And on another up side, Sumo's litter sister Mimosa who lives in NSW came away with her second baby in group today!
LisaCC
Yea he enjoyed it, a lot of people asked about him and wanted cuddles so lots of cuddles from people, got to play with his sister and extended family (including an ACD which his breeder also breeds). Also met a lovely lady who has Rough Collies. His sister wasn't as playful as Nova so he started getting a bit demanding and barking at her so I had to keep taking him away for walks as I didn't have the crate. They also had their son with them, Nova was very overstimulated by him playing on the ground and squeeling as kids do. I've been carrying Nova around to kids sports days so he gets used to it but obviously having him play that close was way too exciting! Then after learning how to stack he started getting tired and he has been asleep since Midday.
