there is only so much you can do to puppy proof a yard Lhok, do not fret over this, do your best and go with that, the benefit to the dogs growth by having outside access is greater than the possible risks involved with being out there.

I was and still am a little fretting over my boy who is outside during the day when I work, I pop home at lunch to check on him but I have to keep reminding myself that I did my best to ensure a safe environment and I just have to keep checking it to make sure its in a good order for him.

My day just gets worse, just had another phone call, They took more x-rays of Raiden and said he chest and tummy don't look normal and his kidney function isn't good and they are having troubles getting a clear picture of his kidneys. So they are going to do an ultrasound of his kidneys and get back to me.

My poor little man,

Don't beat yourself up Lhok, puppies can be real terrors and get into things that we could never even imagine as a possible threat. Please keep us updated. Sending good vibes Raiden's way. Don't be surprised at a few extra grey hairs by the time this ordeal is over

I'm sorry to hear he's not doing so well Lhok. We just never think that we are the ones who will have these things occur, you see so many people who have happy, trouble free puppys, why do we get hassles when we love an worry about them more than others.

Let's hope all is sorted for him really soon.

If they found a foreign body why don't just they go in and get it out? Or can't they put him under if his kidneys aren't good? I hope they can sort it out and make him better

They want to make absolutely sure about his kidneys before putting him under, due to the added stress on his body.

I just want him to come home and be better.

Thanks guys for your support, it makes it better.

Sorry I missed the later updates Lhok but you have dont your best to puppy proof and as Jack said the benefits outway the possibilities.

Any further news on how he is doing and how is kidneys are doing? Hope he is home soon, can you go in and visit him at the vets?

The ultrasound results are not good. Apparently he has been in kidney failure for a while and even the vets are shocked at how stoic he has been. They told me any other dog could not stand up with his kidney test results. They told me it isn't my fault and that they aren't entirely sure how it happened but there isn't anything much in side the structure of his kidneys. Normally you would see this in older dogs with kidney failure so they aren't sure what caused it.

I'm going to have a chat to his breeder and let her know what is going on, she will be as devastated as I am as they are recommending him be put to sleep due to his kidneys and a few other things they have found inside his digestive system.

They also have ruled out the foreign body object and instead worked out it was his inflamed liver that was causing the x ray to appear the way it did.

I never expected this.

oh Lhok, my heart breaks for you and little Raiden, I hope that the breeder can be of some comfort to you and hopefully they might be able to shed some light on things for you. I really hope that the vet has it wrong as Raiden has been the little fighter so far.

Sending you much love and support.

I'll be calling them around 9 as that is when they will have had a chance to get his results of the morning bloodwork. I am praying for a miracle right now.

Thank you for thinking about us and I'm so sorry about destroying the happy vibe of this thread. I just didn't know where to go.
