Red Fox
I recall reading/hearing somewhere that you shouldn't allow a bitch on heat to swim due to the risk of her developing an infection. Is this correct or just an old wives tale? Thank you
Christina
I would say it is an old wives tale. They used to say the same about female humans swimming during a period when I was growing up. The water won't go into the bitches vagina when she swims or has a bath. Swimming should be fine unless its in some stinking, filthy polluted place that wouldn't be good if she was in heat or not. Bjelkier
I'm going with old wives tale. My in season girls have been swimming before and I've never had a problem.
DeltaCharlie
Ours swim in the dam when in season, no issue at all :)
Red Fox
Good stuff. It's going to be 40 degrees next week and I'm sure my poor girl will appreciate a nice cooling swim.
