Dog's Hair And Baking

I love my german shepherd dearly: warts and all.

Here the biggest warts are his hairs.

I brush him every day diligently and methodically.

I used to love baking but no more.

I am so careful to have everything clean, but

since I noticed my dog's hair (one) on a cake beater

(after mixing my cake) I stopped. Dog of course wins.

I am soooo upset:-(((( I used to love baking for different

occasions.

Just thought will have a winge...

In my family I am always the person who gets the hair in her food even if we are at a restaurant. I'd rather eat dog hair because at least I know who it belongs to!

As DtDO said, just have dog people for friends! They understand :D Plus once it has been in the heat of the oven it is fine anyway ;)

Same here! I can cook up a dish without a piece of kelpiex hair in it, but then i'll plate it up and start eating it and find hair in the middle

In our house it's a miracle if you don't find a dog hair. What I find curious is how you can open up a brand new tub of margarine or better and there is a dog hair. It's as though the hair has a homing device and gets everywhere you least expect. :laugh:

Sounds like this place :) Opened up a bag of sugar once that already had a Charlie hair inside by the time I opened it all the way :laugh:

We tell people that it is extra protein :)

I just serve cakes and the likes to friends with " excuse the dog hair ", I haven;t had anyone complain, it goes with the territiry of owning a dog

Cook for dog people and yourself. Funny how a dog hair doesn't bother me at all, but I find human hair really squicky.

Certainly much rather have the odd own dog hair in mouth, get enough when clipping her without even going to the kitchen, better then eating horse meat in commercial food, or as happened recently opened pack of biscuits had eaten 2 already previous day when I found firmly glued to next one a huge pre chewed blob of gum. Next horrible food encounter was some gross foreign object with fur on it in cat food when I opened tin, I suspect probably a bit of kangaroo needless to say both companies were contacted and provided gift vouchers to shut me up but I still took it to higher level then the company.

Just keep on cooking we need fibre in our diet anyways, just don't send home bake to school canteen or any community foodstalls

Unless you are baking for sale, I'd really not worry.

Just consider dog hair an extra special ingredient. :)

You can be as careful as you lile with the baking but when you serve food at a show from the top of a trolley, there's bound to be hair. It's fun to play, guess which dog that came from :laugh:

I only bake for my dog show friends and they don't seem too fussed by the odd hair :laugh:

The only baking I do is for the dogs, I make all their treats and supply the local groomers with my cookies. If I'm baking for people it's usually done at a friends place while I'm teaching her how to bake.

Not so much a problem with the greyhounds but with my old boy dog hair was a condiment in this house.
