shyfig
Jed has had an itchy rash on his stomach and the Vet prescribed Niralone. Does anyone know if this is the same as Cortisone? He started on it this morning and so far has had his 2 daily doses of 3 tabs (1000s) and is very, very subdued and has quite large pupils. Would appreciate any knowledge about this. Guest Ams
Niroline has cortisone in it but also has an anithistamine in it as well. It may be the antihistamine that is causing him to be sleepy and have dilated pupils.
ChewieTAG
does cortisone help in ear infection in terms of the itch or make it worst?
Guest Ams
I would guess it depends on what is causing the itch in the first place. If it is ear mites it will probably make it worse as they will feed off the cortisone and become more active.
persephone
so far has had his 2 daily doses of 3 tabs (1000s) and is very, very subdued and has quite large pupils. Would appreciate any knowledge about this. I would be phoning a vet, I think.... what is the dosage ? How big is your dog ? The vet may need to adjust the dosage rate Edited January 26, 2013 by persephone
